Thermal transfer ribbons
The thermal transfer printer, cut out label or continuous material and transfer ribbons are used for thermal transfer printing. The dye, which is on one of the sides of ribbon (IN/OUT) is transferred on printed base of the label during thermal transfer printing. The proper selection of labels and transfer ribbon results in optimal usage of printers and substantial prolonging of their durability. There are three types of thermo transfer ribbons: wax ribbons , wax - resin ribbons and resin ribbons.
The wax ribbons are designed for paper and cardboard labels. Even though they are not resistant to smear and scratches, they guarantee a high quality of print and the price is low what makes them very accessible.
The wax-resin ribbons are utilized when printing plastic tags, foil labels and paper and cardboard labels. A very good quality of print and resistance to smearing is guaranteed at small costs.
The resin ribbons are recommended for plastic tags and labels made of polyethylene (PE), polyester (PET), polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PI) and vinyl (PVC). They guarantee a high quality of the print of bar codes, fonts and graphics and their resistance to abrasion, chemical agents, chemical solvents and detergents.
Textile – resin ribbon is a special kind of textile ribbon which are utilized for printing nylon and satin taffeta and some of synthetic materials. Specially selected resin perfectly works against very high and low temperatures, dry cleaning and detergents and finally, provides a high quality of print on textile materials.
