KAIZEN
Kaizen (Japanese. 改善 – ‘kai’ - means ‘change’ or ‘the action to correct’, ‘zen’ means ‘good’ or ‘continuous improvement’) – a philosophy which derived from Japanese culture and management. Not only is the application of this philosophy focused on a fulfilment of quality requirements of a product or service but it is also about a style of life – an infinite process of improvement. The basic rule of this philosophy isa continuous involvement and willingness to a continuous improvement of quality of a company and product.
Kaizen’s aims
Kaizen by means of a gradual improvement of all aspects of a business aims to achieve the following targets:
- Time reduction of work process realization and improvement of quality;
- Technical adjustment of elements of a system;
- Creation of assessment and reward criteria ;
- Cost reduction;
Kaizen’s Rules
Kaizen’s philosophy is based on two fundamental rules:
- Improvement and changes for better,
- Continuous process in action.
10 Kaizen’s rules
- Problems create possibilities
- Ask 5 times “Why?” (Method of 5 why)
- Take ideas from everybody
- Think about solutions possible to implement
- Reject an establish state of matters
- Excuses that something is impossible to be done are inessential
- Choose easy solutions- don’t wait for ideal ones
- Use canning instead of money
- Correct mistakes systematically
- Improvement is infinite
